Shared Stories of Impacts Climate Change is Creating

Jun 28, 2024  "What Could Go Wrong"? The Salada Institute at Harvard. "Climate Action Week"

Most predictions of the impacts of climate change on society depend on climate models, but these models are calibrated on the modern climate, and often neglect critical components of the climate system that can greatly exacerbate how climate change will proceed, particularly at a local scale.  Four climate scientists - from climate physics, hydrology, ecology and epidemiology - shared where they see gaps in our current understanding, and where they believe we may be underestimating the risk of severe climate shocks.  The conversation - while dark - helps to inform how we can protect ourselves against some of these risks in the future.

PLEASE Watch this PBS Newshour segment from 7-16-21. Listen carefully to the script and the honest commentary about the recent flooding in Germany. The NASA scientist who gives testimony at the end of the segment has a lot of credibility on this topic. LISTEN to him. He obviously is not driven by any particular political agenda. We all must awaken to the realities we are facing because of our inaction up to now on climate. We MUST reckon to the climate emergency that we are creating if we want our children and grandchildren to be able to experience livable spaces on our planet in the future! Do what you are able to do TODAY!
